How Invisalign® Can Help
The process of Invisalign® entails gradually readjusting the teeth with clear, plastic retainers called aligners. This orthodontic treatment is not only convenient and comfortable, but it's practically invisible. Invisalign® can help to build confidence as the patient doesn't have to wear metal braces with wires and if the patient is an adult and they don't want to wear adult braces, clear braces may prove to be a better option.
Invisalign® aligners are plastic, clear shells that are custom-made to match the shape of the teeth. They can offer the same corrections that one would achieve with braces and may only require one dental visit every 4-6 weeks. The aligners can be removed with eating, brushing of the teeth and even for pictures. They allow the patient to have a natural smile while the aligners are gradually straightening the teeth.

Metal braces have been used for decades, but teens may not like having metal brackets and wires in their mouths. If the teen is responsible and will take care of their Invisalign® aligners, this may be a better option because they can be removed. That means the teen has to be responsible as they need to keep track of them and clean them.
Ultimately the decision may rest with the teen and their parents. Invisalign® offers a better fit and comfort and the aligners are easy to put on and take off. The aligners include compliance indicators that will go from a blue color to clear to gauge the time that they've been worn making it easier for to manage them.
